Superconducting Terahertz Sources with 12% Power Efficiency

چکیده

Low power efficiency is one of the main problems THz sources, colloquially known as gap. In this work we present prototypes devices based on whisker-crystals a hightemperature superconductor Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+d with record high radiation 12% at frequency 4 THz. We employ various on- and off-chip detection techniques and, in particular, use radiative cooling phenomenon for accurate evaluation emission power. argue that such can be used creation tunable, monochromatic, continuous-wave, compact power-efficient sources.
